You definitely don’t need a lot of music theory knowledge to take this class. the only real requirement is that you have some kind of process or strategy for writing music, even if it’s as simple as improvising on a piano or recording melodies into your phone.
The strategies we cover are designed to be flexible and accessible, meeting you wherever you are in your musical journey. For example, when we talk about creating character themes, the focus is on identifying the key elements of a character’s arc or background that the music should capture. How you choose to bring those elements to life is entirely up to you (although we cover some additional strategies for this as well). It’s all about giving you tools and a workflow that fits your own creative approach.
